About your host,
Plastic Whale is a social enterprise with a mission: to make the world’s waters plastic-free by creating value from plastic waste. It's our objective to go out of business eventually. We want to involve as many people as possible in our mission. The more people get involved, the bigger impact we can make together.
What we’ll do
Help make Amsterdam’s canals plastic-free. On this two-hour outing, we’ll show you the highlights of the beautiful canals, and we’ll make the city a cleaner place along the way. The plastic we collect is recycled into whale boats—the same kind of boat we’ll use on our outing. If you don’t want to clean canals, that’s okay. Everyone is invited to relax and enjoy the journey. As an incentive, we'll award a prize for the most original object pulled from the canals.
What I’ll provide
Soda and tap water
Fishing nets and gloves
Extra blankets, ponchos, and life vests
Chocolate bars
Notes
Bring sunscreen and a camera. It can be a bit chilly on the water, so please dress to stay warm.
Where we’ll be
We’ll be on the canals of Amsterdam showing you the highlights. We'll also cruise to spots large tourist boats can’t access due to their size.
