ABOUT US

We're a passionate team that will be delighted to take you aboard on an unforgettable solar boat trip through the Arade River! The company owners are a couple of entrepreneurs, both skippers and with a vast experience in tourism.

From our experience and passion for boating, we came up with the idea of creating Algarve SUN BOAT Trips, an environment friendly maritime tourist company, with a fleet of solar boats for tours in the Algarve.
Our solar boats provide a very pleasant and relaxing experience, as they’re quiet, sail at a constant speed and don’t cause any damage to the flora and fauna. We contribute to a more ecological form of tourism, reducing pollution in water beds and producing zero carbon emissions.
The combustion of a liter of gasoline produces about 2.3 kg of carbon dioxide and a boat consumes an average of 50 liters per 100km. We save every day the atmosphere of 115kg of CO2, which corresponds to a volume of 65m3. By the end of a year, each of our solar boats will reduce atmospheric pollution by more than 30 tons of CO2, with a total volume of 16.400m3, corresponding to 140.000 balloons filled with carbon dioxide. And this is just a boat, isn’t it fantastic?!

THE SUN IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF ENERGY
Our boat is 100% environmentally friendly. It doesn’t consume fossil fuels and doesn’t produce greenhouse gases (GHG). The solar electric motor doesn’t spill oils and exhaust fumes.

IT HAS ZERO IMPACT ON NATURE
Its 7m hull with a 40cm draft was specially designed to respect sensitive ecosystems and the riverside fauna.

IT'S NOISELESS AND QUIET
You will only hear the murmur of the propellers. It allows you to enjoy nature while having a conversation on board. The waves are heard more than the boat sailing.

IT'S VERY SAFE AND COMFORTABLE
The whole boat is certified with the CE mark and designed from the perspective of greater safety, comfort and ease of use.

IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN PORTUGAL
By a shipyard in Algarve, who would say? This way, we also help local economy and promote an innovative Portuguese product.
